Star Fleet
In the early 1980s a puppetry show arrived on TV screens in the UK which was markedly different from anything that had gone before. For a start, it wasn't made by Gerry Anderson. It had a rock and roll soundtrack, an ongoing plot, and characters dying left right and centre. Queen's Brian May was so impressed by it he covered the theme tune. Star Fleet was a children's show in much the same way that Babylon 5 is a children's show - in other words, it isn't really, but the space battles and special effects in both fool newcomers. This show knocked Terrahawks for six; it's just a shame that it hasn't been revived for the 1990s. In fact, as the show was set in 2999, 1999 was a very appropriate year to get my site up and running. Quantum Power !
