 The Clangers are a family of pink aliens who resemble mice (but without tails). They "speak" to one another through a series of high pitched whistles.
Their planet is desolate and cold, so they live under the surface and protect their home by covering the craters (the entrances to their home) with dustbin lids.
Other inhabitants of their planet are also friendly. These include The Froglets - strange orange frog creatures who hop about, The Soup Dragon who lives below the surface guarding the "Soup Mines" and they are all watched over by the Iron Chicken, a metal bird who lives in a metal nest above the planet.
